How Does PUCK Alarm Work?

Place your PUCK away from your bed. Open the PUCK Alarm app and set your wake-up time. Choose from preset routines or create your own. Press Arm Alarm and you're set.

2 No Snooze, No Shortcuts

When the alarm goes off, the volume buttons are disabled. To fully stop the alarm, you must get up and tap your phone on the PUCK.

3 Learn While You Wake Up

The snooze button is replaced with a Learn button. When tapped, the alarm volume lowers by 50% for 30 seconds. During that time, you'll see a quick, fun fact to read based on the topics you chose.

Our Story

PUCK was born out of a simple frustration — the snooze button.

As a current college student, I know how easy it is for late nights to turn into difficult mornings. I'd set my alarm with the best intentions, but when it went off, the cycle always looked the same. I'd wake up, hit snooze, grab my phone for "just a minute," and before I knew it, five minutes turned into ten... then fifteen... and I was still in bed.

That habit didn't just make mornings harder — it made the whole day feel rushed and overwhelming.

Things really hit me when I started trying to build better discipline for myself. I began setting goals the night before: early mornings, 6 AM gym runs, and a mindset of "lock-in season." But when the morning came and my alarm rang, I'd open my eyes, hit snooze, and close them again. The motivation I had the night before disappeared the moment the alarm went off.

I realized the problem wasn't my goals — it was the system I was using to wake up.

That's when the idea for PUCK was born.

Instead of another alarm you can silence from your bed, I wanted something that forces movement. A simple physical action that makes you get up and start your day instead of falling back into the snooze cycle.

But I also wanted mornings to be more than just getting out of bed. That's why we added the Learn feature — replacing the snooze button with something that feeds your mind. Every morning, you get a quick, interesting fact based on topics you choose. It's a small moment of learning that helps start your day with intention.

Setup is simple. Download the free PUCK Alarm app, place the PUCK device on a surface away from your bed, set your alarm and choose your learning topics, then press Arm Alarm. That's it — you're ready for a better morning.

Where should I place the PUCK? ⌄

Place the PUCK far enough from your bed that you need to physically stand up and walk to it. A desk, dresser, or nightstand across the room works perfectly. The further, the better — the goal is to get you moving.
